KTAC - Terms of Use and Privacy

The KTAC (Knowledge Transfer, Advice & Collaboration) service is provided as a partnership between NLAWARP and Kinomi Limited trading as Jiglu.

NLAWARP (National Local Authority WARP) is a project which is owned and operated wholly by Silverthorn Associates Ltd

Throughout this document, the term “you” refers to you as a user of the KTAC system. “Us”  and “we” refer to Silverthorn Associates, as owners and operators of the NLWARP project and the services provided under its remit.

The software that KTAC runs on is Jiglu Spaces(TM), which is licensed to Silverthorn Associates by Kinomi Limited. Jiglu, Jiglu Spaces ,KTAC and NLAWARP are all trademarks.

The service is designed to help you discover knowledge useful to your job, and to collaborate with others in the public sector or other stakeholders involved in the public policy and/or public service delivery process in the UK.
You are limited as to what type of material you can post. It must be relevant to the public sector, it must not be protected by copyright (or if it is, you must have the right to publish it), and it must not be confidential (or if it is, the people who have access to it must have the right to see it)

We will not tolerate unreasonable behaviour of any kind, as defined by us. You may not post any material that is racist, untrue, libellous, homophobic or pornographic. You must not misuse trademarks. You must not use the service for spamming purposes, and you must make sure that any posts that you do make do not contain any viruses, trojan horses, or any other sort of malicious code. You do not have permission to attempt to breach the security measures put in place to protect the KTAC service. However, if you do become aware of any weaknesses in the Jiglu Spaces software, please notify us.
Do not use the service to break the law, wherever you might be.

We also reserve the right to revoke membership of KTAC or your local WARP (if it is operated by us), should any of the terms and conditions set out in this document be broken.

As a user you are responsible for what you post.  If legal action is taken against us for anything that you are responsible for, you agree to pay us for any loss we suffer as a result (an indemnity).

Keep your user name and password safe. Do not hand them out to anyone else.

Silverthorn Associates carries out work with Central Government Agencies, and we reserve the right to use anything that you post in order to help inform any policy writing and support packages which we are working on. We will not directly quote any posts and the information we share will not be attributable to you unless we have sought your explicit permission.

Everyone is concerned about privacy, and we'll do our best to protect your personal details. They may be used by the service to send you newsletters or updates on the service. We will not sell your details and will only allow access to your details when absolutely necessary for the purposes of system maintenance.

Please make sure to give accurate details at registration. That is your responsibility.
Please restrict yourself to one login. You can add additional e-mail addresses as part of your account which removes the necessity to have more than one login.

The Internet is an inherently dangerous place and as such, KTAC is not suitable for posting information above Business Impact Level 2. To ensure that your data is safe, the following precautions are in place:

  • Fully daily backups of the KTAC system
  • A 256-bit SSL certificate provided by Equifax.
  • Weekly vulnerability scans against the server hosting the KTAC system
  • The server is regularly patched and all reasonable steps are taken to fix any vulnerability brought to light as part of the vulnerability scans.
  • The server hosting the KTAC system is placed in a fully redundant, firewalled network and has redundant power supplies.
  • The NLAWARP and KTAC websites are protected by First Cyber Security: A product which verifies that the website your viewing, is the website that you want to view.

We don't give any guarantees for the service, except to the extent that they are implied under English law. Should it stop working or malfunction in any way, unless we have been malicious ourselves, then we cannot be held responsible. Please ensure that you have all the latest security releases built into your browser, and that you are running up-to-date virus software as we cannot be held responsible for viruses sent into the system.
We are based in the UK, and English law applies in the case of any action taken against us. In the event that you misuse the underlying software, you give Kinomi Limited the right to take legal action against you.
