About the NLAWARP

The NLAWARP is a project which aims to stimulate the growth of Local Authority WARPs. We currently facilitate a number of WARPs around the UK, providing online services, facilitating meetings and organising events.

Behind the scenes we work closely with policy and decision makers in order to bring our WARP members the most up-to-date advice possible. We also lobby on behalf of our members, giving them a chance to influence policies which govern their day-to-day jobs.

Despite centrally facilitating a number of WARPs, each one has taken on a "personality" of its own. Each WARP discusses ths issues which matter to its members with topics ranging from getting buy-in from senior management around Information Security to Implimenting technical solutions.

What is a WARP?

The aim of a WARP is to improve information security by stimulating better communication of warnings about threats, improving awareness and education, and encouraging incident reporting. Membership of a WARP can also reduce the costs of good security.

All WARPs provide 3 core services. Find out more about them here.

The National Local Authority WARP (NLAWARP) Project is actively promoting the CPNI WARP concept.

More information about this can be found on the WARP website.
